Expressing Compliment and Congratulation

COMPLIMENT

Compliment is an expression to appreciate or praise other  people.  compliment is useful to give encouragement so that people  will keep on doing their best and even improve their performance.
When we express compliment:

• On daily basis.
• When someone has done his /her best.
• When you visit someone's house for the first time.
• If you noticed something new about someone's appearance.

Rahmi : Hello, How are things going on, Sinta? (Hello, Apa kabar Sinta?)

Sinta : Hi. Good, and you? (Hai. Bagus, dan kamu sendiri?)

Rahmi : I'm feeling great today. How was your weekend with your family in Batu? (Aku merasa luar biasa hari ini. Bagaimana liburanmu dengan keluargamu di Batu?)

Sinta : Excellent! We had a lovely time there. You should have gone there with us. (Luar biasa! Kami memiliki waktu yang indah disana.. Seharusnya kau ikut bersama kami.)

Rahmi : Really? Hey what a beautiful skirt you are wearing. It matches your blouse. (Benarkah? Hey, itu rok yang kau pakai sangat bagus.)

Sinta : Thanks a lot. My sister bought it for me last month. (Terima kasih banyak. Kakakku membelikannya bulan lalu)

Rahmi : Wow! That's wonderful! (Wow! Itu hebat!)

Dialog 2

Grace : you looks great today, Lita. (Kau terlihat luar biasa hari ini Lita)

Lita ; Thanks. So do you, Grace (Terima kasih. Kamu juga Grace.)

Grace : Such a nice new haircut. It suits yourself. (Potongan rambut yang sangat bagus. Itu sangat cocok denganmu)

Lita : Thanks a lot, I cut it a week ago. I am glad you like it. (Terimakasih banyak. Aku memotongnya seminggu yang lalu. Aku senang kau menyukainya.)

Grace : Lita I wanna ask you something. (Lita, aku ingin bertanya sesuatu)

Lita : Oh sure, please. (Oh tentu saja, silahkan)

Grace : Have you finished writing the book we discussed two months ago? (Apakah kamu sudah menyelesaikan penulisan buku yangkita bicarakan dua bulan yang lalu?)

Lita : Yes. Come to my room. Look at this. What do you think? (Ya, sini ke kamarku. Lihat ini. Bagaimana menurutmu?)

Grace : Terrific. I like the cover. Let me see the contents. Oh this book is excellent. You really did a great job. (hebat. Aku suka covernya. Coba aku lihat isinya.  Oh buku ini luar biasa. Kau benar benar melakukan kerja bagus.)

Lita : Thanks a lot. You've inspired me to do this. (Terima kasih, kau inspirasiku untuk membuat ini)

Grace : Your publisher should send it to all bookstores here. (Penerbitmu seharusnya mengirim ini ke seluruh toko buku disini.)

Lita : Yes, you're right. The publisher will do it for me. (Ya, kau benar. Penerbitku akan melakukan itu untukku)

Grace : Well that's great. I am proud of you, Lita. By the way, I have to go now. Have a nice day! (Baiklah, itu luar biasa! Aku sangat bangga denganmu, Lita. Ngomong-ngomong, aku harus pergi sekarang. Semoga harimu menyenangkan!)

Lita : You too. (Kamu juga)

Congratulations is a message telling someone that you are happy because of his or her success or good luck, words that congratulate someone, the act of telling someone that you are happy because of his or her success or good luck : the act of congratulating someone.
